Glass
Shower screens, glass splashbacks and glass mosaic tiles found throughout bathrooms and kitchens.
Glass appears in homes as shower screens, splashbacks, balustrades and glass mosaic tiles. It is non-porous, so stains sit on the surface rather than soaking in, but water spots, soap scum and mineral deposits can build up quickly, particularly in showers.
Care for glass is mostly about regular cleaning. A suitable glass and tile cleaner helps remove soap scum and water marks, and a protective treatment can help water bead and make cleaning easier. With glass mosaics, the grout lines are the porous part, so sealing grout helps reduce staining.

Step 1 What finish is your glass?

Your finish
Polished glass
This is the smooth, shiny face glass naturally has, giving it a sleek, reflective surface with no visible texture. Glass itself is non-porous, so sealing isn't really about absorption, though a Natural Look sealer can be used nearby on grout lines without altering the glass appearance.
