Stone, Tile & Grout Sealers

Porous surfaces like stone, tile and grout can stain quickly and the stain can become deep, making it harder to remove. By sealing the surface, you reduce the porosity therefore slowing down how quickly the surface will stain (reaction time) and how deep the stain can travel. Sealers are not stain proof or water proof however by sealing the porous surface you help protect the surface from staining and also make the ongoing maintenance easier. The Sealers Plus range of Professional Grade Sealers are formulated to provide either a good, better or best type of performance based on the needs of the customer – from stone sealers to sealers for tiles. The better the sealer then the better the protection, the longer the reaction time and the longer the life span of the sealer. Our Sealers are breathable (allow moisture vapour transmission), are UV Resistant and use the latest most innovative and safest technology available to provide the best protection against both water and oil based contaminants.

Choosing the right sealer for stone, tile and grout

Sealing a porous surface helps reduce how quickly stains set in and how deep they travel, making ongoing cleaning easier. No sealer makes a surface completely stain resistant, so spills should still be wiped up promptly.

For a natural, no-sheen finish, Aqua-Seal Gold+ is our most used penetrating sealer. If you want to darken or enhance the stone's colour while sealing, choose Enhance'N'Seal instead.

Sealers for specific jobs and surfaces

Some surfaces need a different approach. Textured or rough stone and pavers suit a film-forming finish, while installation stages often call for a dedicated pre-sealer.

  • Aqua-Seal Gold+ - natural look penetrating sealer for stone, grout, terrazzo and encaustic tiles
  • Enhance'N'Seal - penetrating sealer that darkens and enhances colour
  • Gloss'N'Seal - gloss film finish for textured stone, terracotta and pavers
  • Porcelain Plus - sheen coating sealer for rough, textured porcelain and ceramic tiles
  • Condense Plus - consolidator and densifier for soft or salt-exposed surfaces
  • Ultra-Block - pre-grouting and six-sided installation sealer
  • Spray'N'Seal - aerosol penetrating sealer for quick, easy application
  • AquaShield+ - coating for glass and shower wall tiles, not for floors

Before you seal

Always test the chosen sealer in a small, hidden area first to check application, coats needed and colour stability. For surface-specific guidance, see our how sealers work page or browse stone care, tile care and grout care.

FAQs

Stone, tile & grout sealers: common questions

Which sealer should I use on natural stone benchtops?

For a natural, no-sheen look on stone benchtops, Aqua-Seal Gold+ is formulated to help resist oil, food and grime and is safe for food preparation areas. If you'd prefer to darken or enhance the stone's colour instead, use Enhance'N'Seal. Always test in a hidden area first.

Does sealing make stone, tile and grout water resistant?

Sealers like Aqua-Seal Gold+, Enhance'N'Seal and Spray'N'Seal help resist water and staining, but they are not a substitute for compliant membranes, drainage and correct preparation. They help reduce porosity so liquids take longer to soak in and stains are easier to clean up, but spills should still be wiped up promptly.

What is the difference between Aqua-Seal Gold+ and Enhance'N'Seal?

Aqua-Seal Gold+ is a natural look, no-sheen penetrating sealer, while Enhance'N'Seal penetrates and also darkens or enhances the surface colour. Both help resist staining from oil, food and grime on stone, grout, terrazzo and encaustic tiles.

Can I use a gloss sealer on polished stone or porcelain tiles?

No. Gloss'N'Seal and Porcelain Plus need a porous, rough or textured surface to bond properly and are not suitable for polished or smooth stone, or for polished porcelain and ceramic tiles. Check the product page before applying.

What sealer is used before grouting new tiles or stone?

Ultra-Block is designed for pre-grouting and six-sided or dip-sealing during installation, helping reduce grout and adhesive staining. For stone needing extra strength, Condense Plus can also be used to consolidate and densify the surface first.

How do I help protect glass shower screens from soap scum and water marks?

AquaShield+ uses a Nano-AQS coating to help protect glass surfaces, including shower screens and splashbacks, against soap scum, dirt and hard water lime scaling. It is for glass and wall tile use only, not for floors.
